I am not getting any notification email whenever the tasks getting assigned. I missed one task due to this issue.

Me as well, my last notification was on Sept 29. Apparently a task was assigned to me on Sept 30, no notification and it expired. Then I had another task assigned yesterday Oct 2, but also no notification for that one either. At least I still have until tomorrow to complete that one.
