Follow one of the courses. I don’t think you can just access the labs in a “sandbox mode”.

I am learning a Linux basics course for beginners in that I am not able to enter the root password while doing lab sessions.

passwords is mention over there but I am not able to type it into the terminal.
It is normal that when you’re typing in a password in the terminal, the terminal doesn’t show you what you’re typing. You’re still able to enter your password though. Just type it in, and press enter. You won’t see your password on the screen, but your computer is registering it.
