So, nowhere in the task requirements is mentioned that the service should be running. And the task is about logrotate not about managing linux services.
I think you need make sure service is running.
Also this question seems to be confusing, first paragraph it says compress the log and retain for maximum 3 weeks
check the requirements shared below says rotate monthly and keep only 3 rotated. (should we compress or not ??)
The default logrotate configuration snippets that come with the relevant service enable the compression anyway, so you don’t have to bother with this part.
I also fail this task even i configure well using logrotate in all app servers.
What am i missing ? i think it is validation error. Please help to support.
I have the same task, I don’t know what is my problem, I put “monthly” and “rotate 3” in the configuration file, an I still having a problem. 
the mensaje is:
- logrotate conf ‘/etc/logrotate.d/haproxy’ not configured correctly for logs rotation on stapp01
I also fail this task for haproxy but with same setting it works for other services in all app servers.
