Lab - Switching and Routing

I am unable to follow lab-switching and routing.

How I assign ip address to an app01,app02,app03,app04? Though I see in hint we are assigning ip address to the same interfaces but how it gets mapped to different app01/app02 etc. I can see before starting lab app01 already has an IP address.

Kindly help me understand better as what we are intending to do.

The 4 apps already have IPs but the question requires to assign new IPs.
