I am about to start CKA prep. Cleared CKAD last year. One query: In CKAD, it was literally a race against time. How is CKA in terms of time? Is it the same struggle to be fast?

Ravan Nannapaneni:
I did few things that helped me do the exam in 1.5 hours.
(1) I used imperative commands and I really got good with them
(2) Verify every questions with kubectl describe to ensure the output is as expected
(3) I used aliases right from the preparation of the course. I am very comfortable in my mind that “kg = kubectl get”, ka = “kubectl apply -f”, “kdes = kubectl describe” …
(4) I used api resource shortcut names - pv = persistent volume, pvc = persistentvolumeclaim … right from the preparation days

I blogged my thoughts on preparation at:

I took CKA exam just now, wasn’t that hard. Finished 15 mins before.

Ravan Nannapaneni:
Good luck Jaspreet!!!
