Adding resource limit for nfsuser task - failed task

Hi guys,

I was required to limit the number of processes for the nfsuser on the storage server where 73 and 98 are soft and hard limits respectively. I added the resource limit for this user by adding the below lines in /etc/security/limits.conf as

“nfsuser soft nproc 73”

“nfsuser prod nproc 98”

Where did I get this wrong? Sorry, I forgot to take the screenshot.

Hi Salim,

I just reviewed your answer and found that you used wrong user name in the answer. You have set limits for user nfuser however as per question you were supposed to set limits for nfsuser (notice the missing s), Although in this thread you mentioned the correct username but in your original answer wrong user name was used.

I hope it clears your doubt.
